Sorry all. I completely forgot about this thread.

I really don't want to do a DIY because the JDM system is different to the USDM one and I literally made everything up as I went along. Suffice to say, if I you can install something as simple as an intake or exhaust, then you can do this.

To get it working you simply need to figure out the following: (its really not to hard)

a) How to get video to the Nav screen. My car as RCA connectors so I just needed to convert the HDMI out from my Galaxy S2 to RCA and voila. Other phones will be different, as will cars with a USB connection. I just used a Samsung MHL video out cable and a HDMI to RCA convertor.

b) You need the MimicsX2 module from CustomGadz as per my original post (The new module is good because it supports both Android and IOS. This company has had many issues and delays and pissed a lot of people off. Check out his thread on MP3car.com. I had the advantage of being local and learnt that the owner is actually a nice guy, he just got completely snowed under.

The mimic's unit is reasonably easy to install but not THAT easy. It takes a bit of mucking around but I can vouch for the fact that it does work (as you can see in the video).

c) You need to figure out how to get power to everything. I tapped into the power source in the center console and while its definitely not a clean setup, it works.

That's literally it. I have a GPS re-radiating antenna which is currently being delivered so that I might be able to get my Navigon GPS working properly. If this works I'll post the link to where I got it.

Awesome setup!

Sorry for the noob question - is this just plug and play? Or do you need to setup software? Thanks!

Still wanting a recommendation on a good HDMI to RCA Plug conversion box, what works the best? I want to hook up a Netgear NTV300 to my NAV-TV's RCA Plugs, but need a conversion box in between. or Even if I dont use a NTV300 I want to Connect my Note 3 to HDMI to RCA to my car, Any suggestions on a converter box that works good?

So I ended up cancelling that one because I didn't realize it was used and ordered this one instead

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008FO7PQA/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?ref_=pe_385040_30332200_TE_it em

My question to you is, what do you do when you wanna play Aux? You remove the cables out everytime or wire it with ur hdmi out on phone and play via that?

I was thinking of adding a Bluetooth receiver but than will have to keep switching it back and forth which will eventually mess up the connectors.

My plan is to get a PTV3000 netgear box and use wifi direct and broadcast to my screen wireless.

Anyone else with a 2008-09 having very grainy output?

It's almost unbearable. I tried 2 different converters, 2 different devices, and different RCA cords for the yellow to yellow.
