intelligent key warning light

I check search and didn't come up with anything , so here goes...

This light is coming on now for more than the normal 2 seconds it's supposed to (per the manual). It does go off, but not for a longer period of time (10 seconds maybe), which is a new thing. Not sure what exactly is going on (I have an '08 g37s 6mt). The maual talks about an electrical steering lock malfunction. Huh? I thought maybe it meant low battery in the key fob. Obviously I'm confused, so any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try replacing the battery in the fob. It's a $3 battery. Start with the cheapest fix first.
