If you hook-up an iPod to a 2012 G, will it play songs ripped in Apple Lossless and/or AIFF format, or only the standard, lower quality settings (AAC and MP3)?

I am asking because when using the USB port for an MP3 player or USB flash drive, it will only play MP3s up to 320 Kbps and not the higher quality formats.
