2012 Nav Upgrade

I purchased a 2012 G37xS last December, which came with the 2010-11 maps. Would I be eligbile for a free update?

The Infiniti website says that I should already have the latest:

purchase date has nothing to do with build date, which is what determines what maps is on your car. the car could have been built in January, but not sold till december

however there is no such thing as a free update

I understand that, but I'm not sure if I agree that it makes sense to pay for 2012 maps on a 2012 car after you've paid for the Navigation package.

what carz said, just because you bought the 2012 model, the build date was done in 2011, so it makes sense that you received the 2010-11 maps. you can update every year if you wish, but normally ppl update every other year, to have more of an update on their navi when you're spending around $150 each time (during their deal) or around $200 any other time.

Just ask you salesman. Three things could happen... 1) he/she could give you a free update 2) he/she could give you a discount 3) he/she would say no.
Either way you have nothing to loose by asking.

When I went in for a service back in January, they updated my maps to the 2012 version for free. So definitely ask your dealer.

This came on my 2012 which was built in late oct 2011, and took delivery of mid dec 2011.

Is this considered the new update or is there something newer yet?

My car has the same MAP version, but my understanding is that 12-13 maps are the latest.
