I just upgraded from the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 5, and it actually works about a billion times better. Before, I could not listen to bluetooth audio with the phone in my (right) pocket. It would cut out all the time, and it was basically worthless. The speakerphone in this car is worthless anyway, but it never had any connectivity problems with the car. I'm just glad the A2DP audio works well. As for the cable hookup, I imagine it works fine, but I haven't tried it yet. I'll check it out later and report back.

I had an issue with the bluetooth audio at first. It was still attempting to connect to my old phone. I had to go into the bluetooth audio setup and delete my old phone device, then it started working right away. When I paired the phone initially, it didn't change this setting, so the speakerphone and other items were working fine, but not the audio. I imagine this is by design, so that one could have a bluetooth mp3 player and their bluetooth iPhone for speakerphone stuff.

I can't speak to the 08, but the 12 does not work hooking up USB to the iPhone 5. It just sits at the "Reading File" message indefinitely. My iPhone 4 works perfectly fine with it though.

With my '12 and an iPhone 4 via USB, it shows the playlist and song information perfectly, but it doesn't work at all with the iPhone 5.

so many conflicting results. Can we start a poll or something, or everyone post your year and what works/doesn't?

Same here - 2010 G37x with Nav. iPhone 5 via USB works same as my 4. Streaming bluetooth also works perfectly. Regardless of which connection (USB or streaming), track info displays on the screen and steering wheel controls work to advance/go back.

Us 2008 & 2009 have dedicated iPod cable for iPod integration, we don't have USB inputs nor Bluetooth streaming audio.

Ur song name shows when u guys use Bluetooth or USB? Wow!

Do you see a delay at hookup? You have the short $29 adapter or $39 with a cable?

People all say the $29 short cable is doing the trick, but I wanted to keep the long one, but it might be delaying or made a little different, need to find a short one when it comes in. I doubt me having Navi should be any different.

Don't need to be jealous, all current production Gs will become obsolete when IP6 is out. Main reason why all proprietary factory systems should die.

The $39 cable. No delay at all, it actually shows up on the display almost instantaneously.

So I got the short adapter and everything works perfect including the charging, but the iPod still takes a minute to kick in and seems like theres a delay, is it just me?
