g37S and iphones - help!
BB go with the BrandMotion adapter. It's what I'm using now and it's great. It extends the cable by about 6" and locks onto the OEM cable. No connection issues and charges the iPhone 4S flawlessly. No playback static or noise either. A little more expensive than the other adapters ($40) but worth it IMO. The extension is nice too since I ran my cable out of the back of the arm rest so it doesn't get in the way of opening and closing nor does the cable take up the entire compartment.
Yes I have the 08 Model as well and I use the oem cord and it plays my iphone 4 but doesn't charge but I really don't use my iphone in the car for music. I bought a ipod nano 2nd gen for like $30 and it charges and holds at least up 1000 songs.

Thanks
Must have missed that thread. I bought my BrandMotion second hand from a member on here. Works great. Let me get a link for you. I'm just using the BrandMotion adapter and a new OEM cable straight from the dealer.
Well aparently it's no longer on the website.
This is what they're using now I guess.
iPod Charge Converter 5000-5VC2
I'll get a picture of what I got later today when I get off work.

The OEM cable absolutely does NOT charge the iPhone 4 or 4S in the 08 models. It may connect and play, but it doesn't charge. It does charge older iPhones and iPods.
KAHBOOM, exactly which adapter do you have and does it lock into the phone? I have the Soche Passport because it doesn't lock and comes loose constantly. It's so annoying that I don't even use it.

I have had mine for about 3 years now. The top photo appears to be a newer version of mine... A little slimmer than the one I have which is nice. I got it off of Amazon.
With the cable jive adapter you can also use a USB charger connection which comes in handy if you leave your apple charger at home and someone else may have a USB plug that you can borrow.

thank you for this piece of information. didnt know this existed. always wanted the option of skipping ahead on long mixes forward or backward without having to hold the ffwd/rrwd button on the car or undocking the phone becasue of that stupid accessory screen!
Yep. It charges and plays music. You all the functionality of just the cars cable in addition to charging.
