Footwell lighting questions

im planning on installing some led strips in the footwell, but i dont know how i should make them run...

Choice 1: connect them to switched power. they would be on whenever the car is on (would work like the cig lighter ports)

Choice 2: connect them to the door light circuit. they would only be on when the door is open.

Choice 3: manually switched. only on when i flick a switch. (this could be connected to either switched power or straight battery power so i could turn them on when car is off if i want)

Choice 4: *would be a lot harder than other options* but i could run it so that it turns on with the door open at 100% and then goes down to like 50-75% when door shut and car is on.

I could allways get a multi switch and be able to change it between all of the above too.

Does anyone know how the stock lighting works? I would also appreciate any feedback on other options and which choice you think would be best.

Or, you can connect them like the OEM accent lights, which is to the glove box light. The accent lights will then turn on whenever the headlights are turned on. There's really no point having them on during the day. You wont be able to see it anyways.

My GF has the '12 Atlima and it has exterior Led lighting on the left and right side rocker panels. It lights up the bottom of the car on both sides. It Basically turns on when ever you unlock the doors using the fob or the keyless button. It looks cool and its actually pretty helpful when your parked in a dark area because sometimes you really cant see outside the car. It seems to be stock on all Altimas now since this one is the base model. I would definetly want to do it on my G including the interior accent lighting.
