Help Playback question on CF

Playback question on CF
I decided to finally buy a CF card so I don't have to **** around creating CDs when I want to listen to audiobooks in the car. But before I invest my hard-earned $10, I want to know if the card/player will remember where I left off, just like a CD would? I don't want to have to try to find my place every time I turn the car back on.
And really, you can't copy from the CF to the hard drive? That's not the main reason I wanted one but it would have been handy to have to burn CDs for music either!
