Auto dim for Nav display?

'12 G37 Sedan (Limted Ed). Does the Nav display have an auto-dark feature for night time? There's a button on the controller for day or night, but every car I've ever seen makes this adjustment automatically (including my $99 Nuvi).

At night, the Nav display is so bright it's completely distracting unless I hit the day/night button. Is there a way to activate the system so it automatically darkens the display at night?

Thanks,

Mike

Doesn't your switch to night mode when you turn the headlights on? Mine does. What i'm not sure is if the brightness set during 'day' mode is the same brightness level at night. That is, if the system retains two different brightness settings, one for day mode, one for night.

Lights are on "auto". They go on when it gets dark automatically. That's why I'm wondering why my nav display doesn't darken at the same time. I'm guessing it's just not activated somehow.

You might have the 'night' display brightness turned up to max

Press the day night switch to put it in night mode and adjust the brightness. After that the vehicle should perform this automatically.

Nav works with the lights. Do what the post above says and they will work together.
