New to the forum, just traded in an 04' TL 6spd for an 09' G37XS sedan. Missing the stick however the paddles are getting me through. Took it for a nice hard drive today and really enjoyed them while hammering on it through the twisties. Nice to not have to take a hand off the wheel to shift!

Anyways, I have been pulling my hair out with the ipod interface. I really want to be able to have the ipod play a random song when I click the down rocker on the steering wheel/down button on the radio. This appears to be impossible however. I am using a 1st gen 4gb ipod nano, when plugging it in the ipod displays the infiniti logo and charges so it appears to be compatible. When hitting the scan button on the radio multiple times i can get it to display "trk shuffle" however when advancing to the next track from either the steering wheel button or the button on the radio it just plays the next song sequentially in the list.

Music box, MP3 CD, Compact flash however do randomly play a song when i select next when it is set on random for those inputs. Is anybody able to successfully get the ipod to play a random track as I describe above from an ipod? If so, which ipod do you have?

On mine, it is the RND (random) button that controls shuffle, not the scan button.

Also try turning on "shuffle songs" on the iPod interface, before it's connected to the car.
