I took my car in for an oil change today and my service rep said there was a new update for the navi which included call waiting for bluetooth devices. He said there were some additional enhancements as well.
Does anyone know what the other updates/enhancements were? I figured I would notice them just tinkering with it but can't seem to notice them.
It's a free update as it solves the issue with no option for call waiting. Typically for map updates you would need to pay but this particular one addresses a booboo made by Infiniti.
So no new map update? I've already noticed my 2011 is missing a ton of streets and businesses that are about a year old, and I've only owned it for 3 weeks.
^I asked the service rep about the map updates. He said there are 2 per year but the biggie comes each January each year. So, be on the lookout for it in Jan. 2012.

I already know that my NAV is the latest version.
I am more interested in finding out more detailed info about what you said, above, in bold. You should ask the service tech what he meant. It drives me a little nuts when these guys are so vague.
I had a firmware update 2years back due to me losing my phonebook every few weeks and voice command issues and that corrected everything + gave me call waiting which adds an extra button 'Switch Calls' which should already be there for all you 08+ folks from factory i would think

Exactly! I've got streets that are 5+ yrs old not showing up and that's just ridiculously stupid.

Are they main roads or subdivision and side streets.
One thing I have noticed is that Navteq doesn't always add roads unless the road has been legally assumed by the municipality.
For example, a new development could be 5 years old but the roads are still legally being maintained by the developer until all phases of construction have been completed and everything is accepted/approved by the municipality.
Strange that they will often add them to online mapping services though.
Sorry, I know this doesn't take away from the fact that it's frustrating for Nav users.
