Review Upgrade to navigation?
Sorry for the delay in response i have been in Taiwan for the last week, actually signed up while i was there.
As for Canada we do have some current dealers there already doing the systems, both at the dealership level and at the 12volt specialists level. feel free to email sales at Directusnav.com to find a local dealer.
For the JDM skyline, we are not compatible with the OEM nav unit. you can however use a Video_in _motion piece like from NAV-TV and display our video that way. But there will be no touch control. we do offer maps for your area and you could use our touchpad remote.
As for the price, its really the best solution to get nav into these cars after build. to buy all of the components from the junkyard with no warranty, including all of the harnesses will run you well over 2k in parts. ours has a three year warranty. With the optional Radar detector with laser shifters (Not legal in Canada) Bluetooth, full tire pressure monitor system with individual tire and temp, And full vehicle tracking with SMS commands from smartphones, it is a high end piece of equipment. with future models offering a 3 or 4 g modem for full high speed internet in the vehicle.
Currently it has its own speaker and can mute the Nissan audio. To get sound into the radio you must use your AUX input.
Again sorry for the delay.

Yea I'd be interested in this unit too. Actually I did get ahold of directus and found some vendors withing Toronto canada who have this unit..
I'd like to know if there are any actual car dealerships in Toronto that have these units.. I contacted my Infiniti dealership for this unit and see if they would want to test it in my car but have not heard back from the rep yet...
I got a cheaper quote for the unit in canada too by a few hundred but I wonder if directus will sell it to the customer if we buy it from this website like a group of people?
Directus Any ideas?s

Directus: The Bluetooth unit I notced has an exposed microphone.
When this unit is installed into the car will the mic not be exposed? how would this unit be hidden and still provide good audio vioce quality in a car?

my buddy told me that nothing should be exposed...
Bluetooth Mic
I guess that's possible, Just looking at the picture of the unit and the cables, the mic would need to put in a spot that gives the best voice quality I haven't seen videos of the Bluetooth being hidden in the G sedan or coupe on the directus website...
Either way It's cleaner if the stuff is all hidden.
Directus: In canada and I am sure in the States they have "Internet Turbo Sticks": which give wide randge internet access on some sort of rate plan from a provider.
If a customer were to use this device in the USB slot of your Prodigy unit will the internet option on the screen work?
I can see this being a"Cool" Feature in a car if it can be come a internet ready by adding the turbo sticks....

Should we try and start a group buy thread? I can call to see if directus' retailer will do a group buy but hawaiian82, we may have a better chance going with you since you only need 5.
