Nav Programming

I have the 09 vert and nav question - probably best if I give an example. Lets say I program a destination that puts me on a parkway or interstate for 50 miles. Instead of the nav showing me 50 miles to the turn off, it will show me a much shorter distance to some random exit or interchange and tell me to stay left and continue on the current route. It will then repeat this throughout the 50 miles, even though I'm staying on the same route for the 50 miles. Is there a way to program the nav not to do this?

I hope this makes sense to you guys. Thanks

+1 for this - This is one of the most annoying things about the navi system. The second most annoying thing aboiut it: not being able to scroll through lists while driving (eg. If you search for food near the next exit, you can only see the first 5 results because you can't scroll to the next screen until the car is in park).

My car does this as well. I believe its due to the lane guidance feature. It only does it in areas that may be a little confusing if your not familiar with the area like interchanges. Not sure if you can turn it off. I guess its trying to make sure you stay the course.

I agree that its something with lane guidance. My portable GPS does the same thing, but I might be able to turn it off on that, not sure about our cars though.

Its a little annoying but not too bad. I think the bottom up approach for turn list is more annoying!

its not exactly a flaw, it has to do with the lane guidance. There are parts where the highway will (or used to) split
