Can't argue with success, unless you're getting poor reception. Nyuk nyuk nyuk...

My old 2007 g35 coupe was notoriously bad. I don't get as many complaints with my new 2011 g37s but still do occasionally. Using iPhone 4. I will say the conversations in BMW 5 and Merc C class were always crystal clear.

I had the same problem....people thought I was in a tunnel and I was breaking up. When you're on the phone, I found out that both the mic and phone volume use the same volume adjustment (volume **** on Bose audio). When you adjust volume, both the mic and sound volume for BT are adjusted. I originally had the phone volume turned all the way up. Once I set it half way, people could hear me fine.

Now if I can keep the BT connected when my phone is in my pocket...sigh (BT keeps disconnecting and reconnecting).

you have 2011? Apparently they still haven't fixed the issue.
It seems to be more of a phone/car handsfree system compatibility issue based on everyone's reply.

I bought a 2010 G Coupe 5/2010. At the time I had a BlackBerry Curve. No problems with sound with that phone. I got the iPhone 4 in October and ever since people complain about being able to hear me with the handsfree in the G.

It's gotten to the point that I've stopped using the handsfree mode and just pick up the phone to talk when I get a call in the car.

2011 here. People can't tell whether I'm using the phone or the car's system. It works pretty good. I'm using an iPhone 4.

First time Infiniti owner here. Less than a month of ownership but I'm experiencing issues with the microphone. I can hear people just fine but I'm getting complaints that my voice is garbled or broken up. I have an iPhone 4. I haven't had the dealer check it out yet. I'm hoping this can be solved.

Other than that, the car is sweet!

Perhaps this list can be helpful for some people when picking out their next phone!

I have the same problem with 2011 G37xs for iPhone 4. I've had this car for less than 1 month. I first got complaints that i sound like a robot. Then I realized it was because the iPhone 4 was in my pocket. Once I took it out and placed it in the cup holder, the caller could hear me clearly. Then I would get the "calls breaking up" issue. Shutting Bluetooth on and off sometimes works. I also try restarting my iPhone 4 and pairing again to fix. Sometimes it works. I usually don't have time to test all options in 1 sitting because the caller and I get annoyed. Plus i rather blast my music then talk on the phone.

Lastly. My brother has a 2011 maxima which has the same navi and Bluetooth setting and I hear him clearly with his droid from sprint.

I think these are phone based issues. I have a 2011 with the original droid and my phone stays connected the entire time. Never fails.

I have an iPhone4 now and the mic sucks when paired with bluetooth. My blackberry was not much better while paired. Although the bluetooth streaming audio is ballin on the iPhone4. Pandora is my new best friend and saved me a bunch of money from renewing my Sirius.

Before my G I had a F150 with a Pioneer DVD/NAV unit with a mic installed and everyone said my calls were crystal clear, which leads me to believe it is more with Infiniti's end (isn't the head unit from Jensen? Can't you buy Jensen at Walmart?)
