I'm having a similar issue with my iPhone 4 and my 2010 no NAV.

I plug in the iPhone (via USB) and everything is good for about 20 minutes to an hour and then the audio will drop. It doesn't matter if the audio is coming from the iPhone itself (e.g. music stored in the iPhone) or if I am streaming from Pandora.

The only remedy is to unplug and re-plug to get it going again. Then it is good for another 20 minutes to an hour and it drops again.

I'll be taking the car in for service soon and all I've seen is a TSB for the 2010 with NAV so I may inquire about whether there is something for the non-NAV cars.

Anyone with a similar experience and if so, is it the phone or the car?

Thanks.

Mine is doing it again. I'm going to take it in.

I haven't been able to pinpoint if it's the phone or the car, but if I had to wager I'd say it's the car.

I do not experience any of the issues you guys mention.

I tried using the plug and it works fine, but none of the other audio works through the plug.

Therefore i always use bluetooth audio as ALL my sounds go through, including txt msg, mail notificaitons etc.

Very happy the car has bluetooth audio, plugging it in sucks and is so limited

For the 2010s that use the usb cable, be sure that the cable you are using is high quality. I experienced issues with just a generic iphone cable and then switch to a belkin thicker guage cable and no issues now.

i have a 2010 NO Nav G37 Journey. I recently got an iphone4 and started using the usb cable i got with the phone to connect and listen to Pandora. As MELZ described earlier, my connection drops every 5-7 min. i have to disconnect and reconnect to get it working again. i thought i was my signal strength but i always have full bars and its also happened while was at a stop light. i don't know if its the phone, cable or car. This really sucks because i just discovered Pandora and just figured out how to get it streaming in the car. Now i cant get it to work for more than 10min. Hopefully this topic will continue to grow with more info and research.

Okay, I tried a better quality cable and it is still the same - dropping at random intervals. I tried an OEM Apple cable, a Monoprice cable and a Belkin cable. So, my current thinking is that the issue is probably not cable related.

I'm going to give my old iPod a try and see if it behaves the same way.

Second test

I've done the same 30 min trip back and forth (work-home) for the last couple of days just playing Pandora on my phone to see if the area or my reception is causing the drop and it never happens. If the reception and the cable are eliminated than the car is the only other possibility?

Same Problem Here G37 2010 Sedan.. Iphone conected via USB OEM usb cable.. Will start to play song and after a few seconds sound will not be heard but song time on the NAV will keep going.. Remove Cable and plug cable again and sound will come back but after a few seconds it will do it again.

I wonder if is a 4.1 apple software problem.. I want to try with a Ipod that has a 3.1 version install to see if it does the problem..

Isn't there an iPod/iPhone Nav system update out there. I received a notice in the mail but haven't got it done yet.

The only issue so far is: when I plug my iPhone4 in, my phone states that it is incompatible with the car, but I could still play music from my phone.

It's doing it again on my car: 2010 G37 Premium/NO Navigation

I don't think it's the cable either.

i called my local dealer and explained my issue but the guy put it off on Apple, saying its probably a software issue or interface issue and to contact Apple for a solution.

I was in the dealer yesterday...and they told me that iOS4 and Nav equipped Gs don't have the correct interface yet. iOS3 does, but not 4. They think it is close, but until that point you might experience bluetooth and direct connection issues. They printed a bunch of stuff from the Infiniti site proving this...because they know I think they are all a bunch of kooks.
