Upgraded bose system...Opinions..

Hey guys, I have yet to hear the upgraded bose system for the g37 coupe and I was curious what you all think about the sound quality of the system. How is the clarity of the high frequency and the bass from the speakers? How is the overall power coming out from the speakers and will it handle loud music without crackling the speakers after a short time?

Will be picking mine up soon, thanks guys!

For a factory system, I'd say it's pretty good. Highs are good, bass is there, but still lacking however. Add a sub and it will imporve the sound tremendously. I have yet to hear any crackling from the speakers, but like any speaker they will distort if turned up too loud.

I think the average person would be satisfied with it stock. and unless you're an audiophile adding a quality sub should be more than enough for most people.

Decent head unit. Same old lackluster Bose speakers.

compared to other 'premium' systems.......its one of the best. Better than BMW, better than the Alpine system in my Jag.

never have i once heard distortion or crackling.......its a very solid system

I like it very much ... plenty of punch. The center front does really add.

I think the Merc has more bass actually, at least on my E class, and i agree, the factory BOSE realllyy lacks bass. But nothing an additional sub won't help

Dude, if you plan to listen to music, get the Bose sound system! The only good thing in the non-bose system is the off button. Trust me, it's not expensive upgrade, but it's worth it. It will cost you more to do after-market stuff to stock stereo.

I don't understand the lack of bass comments. Bass isn't supposed to be overpowering like most kids have it cranked up in the car. The bass from my Bose can vibrate the rear view mirror. Bass is the subtle part of the music, not the over riding majority.

Now on a side note, I removed my rear deck when I was getting the windows tinted, I also removed the rear speakers so the installer didn't smash his thumb through them. Was expecting to see more of a "robust" looking speaker.

I have to say that the Bose system has enough base for me. The overall sound quality is good, but not as good as some systems I've listened to, like the ones in Lexus (Mark Levinson) and Acura.

In my opinion, this system should come standard and they should have a better system as an upgrade. I am not an audiophile but I know I will not be happy with the stock system.

Stock Bose System is plenty good for me. Bass is there, mids and highs are good, I like the sound of my FI CF catback better anyway, just get good exhaust who needs a stereo lol

LOL > Love this quote and subscribe to it too... Been nice lately outside, so
I've had the windows down... But it's nice to have the BOSE when it rains.

In terms of opinion... I like it, its good enough for me, BUT my wifes Caddy
STS Bose system is better. Probably due to the 10" woofer on the rear deck!!!

The word is bass, not base.

Lol wow mixed reviews. I never really been a big Bose fan but I love the hd storage capability on it. For me having an mp3 outlet and everything is luxury, coming from a system with just a cd changer in my old 330i. Btw I thought the premium package or upgrade sys comes with a subwoofer?
