Audio Install Help (A Few Questions)

I've been doing a bit of reading and can't find the exact answers I'm looking for.

1. How did you run the power wire through the firewall to the battery? Which grommet was removed? (I'm going to assume that most of you guys used the engine harness loom to feed the cable but how do you removed that rubber grommet from the harness in the engine bay?)

2. Below the rear trunk plastic trim has a little bit of space on the passenger side. I have 2 boxes located in this position (Voice Recognition/Sirius Radio). This would be ample space to mount an amp but where can I relocate these boxes or how are they mounted in you car? I noticed a few cars have them in different locations.

3.The center console with the heated seat switches have a blank button in between. I've already removed the headunit trim but how to I get to this button to pop it out?

4. Some of you have hid the RCA cables going into the Composite port from an external device in the arm rest. Any ideas on how to run RCA cables underneath the arm rest into the trunk?

TIA guys.

1. I assume you are looking at the grommit that is behind the battery just under the windshield. You see it after you remove the trim around the battery and under the windsheild.

A couple of us cut a hole in the grommit and then sealed it with silicon when finished. Works like a charm! To feed the wire, just let gravity help you out. Right below the grommit, there isn't much blocking access. Just take off the plastic trim under the glovebox (you don't need to remove the glovebox or a single screw)!

2. I only had one small box next to the wheel well (on the passenger side). I took it off of the metal thing that was holding it up and just used some heavy duty velcro to attach it to the floor just behind the seat back (still under the trim).

3. I didn't have a blank button (I have a 6MT which has different trim around the shifter)...so I guess you have the AT. But most blank buttons can be popped out from the rear fairly easily. You'll have to remove the center armrest to get at it tho (it's not too hard).

4. Same thing...you'll have to remove the center armrest to do this. Under there, you can get under the carpet, run it a couple feet under that carpet, and then have it come out under the rear seat (which is very easy to pop up and get under). I have a slew of USB and other wires running like this.

Thanks for the detailed reply Drew!

So you cut the zip ties holding the wires for the box in the trunk and relocated it to closer to the rear seats it sounds?

Also, how do you remove the center arm rest? I've already run a few wires under the rear seat but the arm rest is giving me trouble.

BTW, I PM'ed you a few other questions if you don't mind
