Which iPod is best for G37?

i did some search on what's the easiest way to listen to my mp3s and figured ipod is better than CF card because i can search by artist and no lockouts.

so my question is

1) What ipod is best for my 08 G37? im planing to leave the ipod in the car 24/7 so i just need the basic one that charge itself with the cable ....

2) Also everytime i turn on/off the car do i need to turn on/off the ipod manually or it will do it automatically for me? like i said i'll keep my ipod in the car 24/7 so it would be nice if i don't have to turn on/off manually..

Thanks

I have the iPod classic (current gen) and I just leave it in all the time. Dont gotta worry about turning it off or anything since they auto-idle. Plus it charges while the car is on so that problems solved as well.

1st gen iPod touch will charge no problem. Older iPod nanos (old design) and Minis will work.

Franky - have you tried messing around with the "EQ" thats on the iPod? I think there's a setting for adding more bass... No clue if it'll actually do anything, just a thought..

I use an iPod Touch - seems to work pretty good. I do notice that I have to turn the volume up a little more compared to XM and radio to get the same sound level...

Cheers...

I keep mine 3 years old 80G as you said 24/7, works great. I wouldn't use it without good padded case since vibration will kill HD inside. HD inside are flimsey and they are main problem. I also own 160g latest release, but not for car.

The 08 iPod cable is designed for the classic. The Touch will wok with it but will not charge (and will tend to error alot). The 10 has a USB so the Touch works better with it than in the older G37's....

The very first touch that came out will work without any issues. I know because it's in my car right now It was out after the original iPhone, around 2007.

I have an 08 and use the latest generation Nano. I have to use the adapter so it will charge with the Infiniti cable, works flawlessly ....

G37BS, what did you end up getting? I'm looking to buy an older ipod for cheap like you. Wouldn't mind getting a classic since its easier to transfer songs with 3rd party software.

I have the 08 G37S.

At first I thought 3rd Gen Nano since its small and I've always liked that one, but now i'm realizing it doesn't charge from reading the helpful posts.

Thanks.

Me too, only problem is the adapter won't fit if you have the iPhone 4 bumper on the phone. It also doesn't lock into the phone, so if you bump it or anything the adapter falls out or turns your music off. The quality is perfect though.
