Which iPod is best for G37?

scosche adapter
Thanks guys.
I did see the posts about this adapter. I'm just trying to avoid an additional gadget/connection component if you can understand where I'm coming from.
Now I think an older generation ipod classic would be best....shouldn't be too expensive.
Funny thing is...I just remembered I have a 2G ipod....I think I'm going to try it.

if your using the actual a/v cable, the red/white/yellow i dont believe it charges, as far as i know thats a one way cable and thats from the ipod to the car. as far as plugin in with a usb, i'm no entirely sure but it should work or atleast charge it. dont quote me on it though

The Apple composite av cable has a usb line connected to it. My charger that I use in my car has an open port for it. If I connect the usb towards my charger and the av connected to the 80gb ipod classic together, will it play and charge at the same time?

I have 80G, around 4 years old leaving in my G. Heat or cold, works great. New generation seem faster on menu and thiner but lots of complains that it getting burned fast. Also my old iPod could play video with $5 cable and new requared expensive Apple cable for this. Make sure you keep iPod in good padded case in G, it doesn't like vibration much.

As a couple of the other guys already said, the 6th generation iPod Classic works great. I only take it out of the car when I go to the gym. It's always charged, and turns off when it's idle for too long.

Yes. I have this cable and it charges the iPod/iPhone while video is playing. It may require the 10W power adapter to charge, though (I've never used it without the power adapter). If that's the case, you could always get a small DC/AC converter and plug the adapter into it.
