Iv'e noticed some new features/changes in my Infiti OS. The coolest being is that I now get traffic updates. But I didn't sign up for the service.....is infiniti giving it for free now?

XM turned it on for everyone for two weeks, I think.

They want you to see how cool it is and subscribe for it.

You get 3 free months after you buy a new car. XM is pushing for the xmNav right now so they have it free for everyone for the time being.

^^I was at the dealership last week and noticed a sign that this was the case. They are trying to get you to sign up once it is taken away...

What sucks is XM refuses to combine satellite radio deals with XMnav traffic. They've offered me XM radio for as low as $5 a month but as soon as I say I'd like to add on the traffic they say they can't do that and have to charge me full price for the radio. I don't want the satellite radio, I just want the traffic.

Thats odd because I've gotten then down to $4.99 for traffic; I don't drive enough to warrant the extra cash. I get the same info on my phone.

I've got an android phone......so I just think its pretty pointless to use the xm service because it doesn't allow me to even search while driving. t defeats like the entire purpose. And the traffic it only shows for highways and not busy streets which is also weak. I hope someone figures out a way to install android in our cars and tether the phone to get traffic updates and such.

Yeah traffic is an extra $5 a month. What I'm saying is that you have to have XM radio in orider to get the traffic; you can't buy traffic as a standalone. When an XM rep offers me $5 for the radio and then I ask to add on the traffic for another $5 a month they say they can't do that. They have to charge me full price for the radio subscription plus the $5 a month for traffic.
