how does one go about changing the amp? is it easy to do? What's the best amp on the market?
I'd like to know this too. I'm not exactly an expert on car audio systems but if there is a D.I.Y. on removing and replacing the amp, that would be great.
I just can't get over how bad the Bose system sounds... my 06 Accord's basic sound system was so much better compared to the Bose set up. I've only had the car a week and I normally just keep my windows open and listen to the exhaust even though it's the stock exhaust but I had to listen to it today (due to rain) and couldn't take it after a few minutes so I just tuned in to NPR.
I dont think it is that bad....I had a Sports coupe before getting a new Journey Sport with the Bose and it sounds way better....have you played with the settings where it has the option for driver soundstage that made a big difference for me.

Yes, I played with all of the settings... I actually used a frequency disc to try and adjust the highs and lows (as I did for my home theater sound system, which I set up for ~$500) and found that the Bose system could only handle the frequencies in the middle...
All of our current cars (96 Acura Tl, 02 Volvo S60, and an 08 IS350) have "premium" audio systems but the Infiniti is by far the worst.
