G Bose system mods

I am really disappointed with Bose audio on my G37 coupe, flat and dull. Any mod’s you did without complete replacement and rebuilds to improve it? Thanks!

Well, a sub won't help with the fidelity. You could start with the paper speakers in the doors.

I personally have the windows down so I can hear the exhaust.

Did you get the upgraded system? I don't know if it's in the nav or premium package but I think it's awesome for a "from the dealer" system.

It is far away from to be awsome, very mid level consumer quality sound.

Yeah it does suck, my Ford has a premium 8 speaker audio system (Factory) which is a lot better than the Bose in our G's. But then again I have two 12" Memphis Subs in the rear that make it sound even better

Since stillen cb exhuast install on Friday, only time the radio is on is when the wife is with...solo runs there are no tunes just my sweet sounding exhaust. I have the 6mt with the 80 speaker bose system and I think it sounds fine, a little more base needed maybe but...

The amp is a huge problem because it is where the heavy EQ'ing is happening. Better speakers will only make is seem that nasty EQ'ing seem even worse.

If you take out the Bose amp, you'll get a great clean signal from the OEM headunit. From there, you can EQ it to your heart's content...but I don't think stockk Bose speakers will not sound that good when pushed with some real power (but at least they shouldn't sound worse).

Someone tested this out a couple years ago in this forum...maybe I can find that thread...

No offense man, but you should have known that by just looking at the specs. Even 500W is a bit much for the 12W6v2. 750 is what the 12W7 needs.

Turn the gain down on the amp. Just because because you have it, you don't have to use all of it. Make sure you are not driving it to clip. The 10W6 should be able to handle that amp with no problem, IF you are setting the gains to not have a clipped signal. One would be surprised at the amount of CLEAN power a speaker will take.

Just my $.02
