Bose is just marketing cr.p anybody know this. I like listening good quality music and I know what is good-great audio system is. Bose not even close to be good. I hope Infiniti will replace them with better system. They should check Lexus or Acura for this.

Infiniti is using Bose name and Bose is using Infiniti to sell more components. But the quality is very poor, I agree. Nothing near the quality of the Bose home theater systems. But what do you expect from an upgrade that is part of the $2,150 Premium Package that includes sunroof, seat memory, rear sonar, etc. If you price all individual options, my guess is that Bose system is an extra $250 on top of the standard system, and that is the sale price! So, we should not have to high expectations. I did not hear any difference between my 2010 car with Bose and ny 2008 with standard system.

Bose HT is also crap (compared to a real system costing much less than the Bose), so its saying something that the one in the G is even worse. It would be so easy to improve the quality but unfortunately the Bose name probably sells more, so Infiniti chose to go with it.

I wouldn't not say that Bose speakers are marketing crap tho. They are just over rated, over priced and far worst compare to other brands' speakers at the same price range. I don't think the SOW is anywhere better than the system in my G35. Even my Logitech Z5500 sounds way better.
Adding a sub really helps. I have 2 x 10" Infinity subs.

I would agree on this, only product I like from Bose is headphones with noise canceling. HT sounds weird and anybody who know other HT systems will say same. Pure marketing for crappy brand and product.

Well whos problem that Infiniti doesn't have "GOOD SOUND" option besides all this packages?

I think the Bose system is more than adequate for a luxury car stereo.

I've had lousy systems (pickup, lol), pretty bad stock systems (BMW E36 3 series), and upgraded systems (HU, speakers, sub) with a 12" sub in the trunk. It really sucks when you can't turn up the volume without getting harsh distortion, and it really sucks when the speakers are so tinny that cranking it up makes your ears bleed. Our system suffers from neither of those two evils.

Our system might not be perfect, but it sounds perfectly capable given that most of us are driving while listening and a lot of perceivable audio quality goes out the window the moment you roll the windows down. Windows up disconnects me from the driving experience, which is something I was trying to gain by going 6MT.

Maybe a lot of people like to sit in their garage and listen to music in their car. As soon as I'm driving, I just need something decent, since that's really all I can afford to pay attention to anyway.

Just my view.

I agree, but it doesn't change the fact that it produces mediocre sound quality. I also love the LIE that Infiniti uses in its marketing and specs that proclaim there are subwoofers in the package. There are woofers, but not subwoofers. I have no idea how they get away with that false advertising, by the way.

So you kept the original amp and HU just changed the speakers?

I'm also curious as to whether this will work... of course, nothing that expensive. I'd rather put in some Infinity (no pun intended) speakers since they're great for the money.

I don't think it's a bad set up but it definitely lacks the punch from the lows or the ear tearing highs.

Replacing just the speakers won't really change much if you leave in the factory amp. Adding a subwoofer does help fill out the lows but leaves everything else flat. Simply changing out the factory amp will make the OEM speakers sound better.

I've clearly changed a lot out on my car but for someone looking for the most sound improvement but smallest changes changing only the amp will give you a big improvement to sound quality. That should help the 'flatness' of the sound. After that if you're not satisfied you can start replacing speakers. But that Bose amp has to go, it's EQing is terrible. Which is a shame since the HU puts out a nice clean signal.

so the setup i think i have seen here with the prebuilt sub enclosure with an amp secured is kind of what your talking about? the amp would be supplying the power to the amp and the speakers if you wanted right? meaning if you you got the right kind of amp...?

Yeah, if you added a sub too you could get a muti-channel amp (I use the Audison LRx 5.1k) to run the sub and front speakers straight off the head unit. What a massive difference in sound dynamics and quality.

i was doing some research that sounds like a really good amp from the reviews i read. so with that amp, sub, enclosure, and installation your probably looking at about $2000-$2500 right?
