Cell Phone Mount

I am just curious as to whether anyone here has mounted a cell phone or other such device in their car? I have motorola droid and I am gonna get a car mount soon but I have no idea where I will be mounting it.

Any ideas? I was thinking somewhere near the charger.DOMO

try Pro-Clips USA ....two piece system. I have used MANY of these for various phones / iPods and 4 different cars (not the G) since it has bluetooth and iPod connectivity, no real need to have the device "handy".

Not sure if it's unique to the 2010 interior, but there's a nice cubby that fits my BB perfectly just in front of the gear selector. Basically where the ashtray would be...

Anybody doing anything else since this thread? I have a mount that is basically an arm that bolts to the front right bolt in my seat. Then its a bendy arm that comes up to hold the phone right about where my right knee is.

It's actually a great idea, but the build just doesn't quite fit right with our seats. I have trouble getting it to bolt tight. Then it holds the phone right at my knee, so I bump it quite a bit.

Just wanted to see if anybody has any other brilliant options.

Those definitely look sweet...but are $75 when all is said and done. Can't swallow that.

I have a DroidX and I just toss it into the cup holder and sync it with bluetooth.

A few questions about the proclip mount.

1) For using googlemaps on your cell phone, how practical is the viewing angle? What about interacting with the phone.

2) What damage if any results to the area behind the mount?

3) Does the G37 application have adhesive on the back? What happens if/when you want to remove the mount?

4) Are there better options?

$75 is pricey indeed for a plastic holder. While the BT integration is nice, I would like to make more use of googlemaps/waze when driving. Can't do that too easily if the phone is on the seat.

I have this car mount and place it near the A-pillar. I use it with the Torque App and OBD II bluetooth transmitter. Works perfectly with my HTC Thunderbolt. The suction cup sticks really well.

^^You have it attached to the glass or some part of the dash? If the glass, then I wonder how well the suction cup will hold onto the dash. I might consider that as a more accessible location.

I like this one better -

Mobile Grip Removeable Sticky Dash & Console Mount

Maybe stick that on the horizontal part of the dash near the center console, over the right vent.
