Video in Non-Nav G37

Who has hooked up video to their non nav system? How does it look? I want to buy a cable but wanted to check if video quality is worth it. I'll be hooking it up to my iPod Video.

If your talking about playing movies while parked. It looks like a YouTube vid on the screen. If talking about a video mod, you'll get an infraction here.

I've used mine (while parked of course ) and the picture on mine came out clear with crisp sound. But I use official dvd's and not bootlegs or iPod video. I would say it looks a little better than a Youtube vid though IMO.

I have run widescreen video from iPod through the video connections in the console and it looks real good. Several threads on what cables to use. Even one thread on someone that ran portable DVD.

P.S.
In regards to "the mod which we do not speak of", click here
The mod you linked to is 100% acceptible and not at all forbidden. Just to clear up any confusion and misinformation, discussion of a modification that automatically presses the "OK button", allows access to the grayed out options while moving, and allows video playback while parked (like KP's module does) is acceptable. It always has been.

Discussion of or linking to modification to allow playback of video while in motion is the only thing that is not allowed. Publicly at least.

Lots of members don't understand it. I suppose it is a nuance of a difference, but it is what it is. KPierson is actually a site vendor and has sold lots of the navigation Interface modules here. It doesn't allow video playback while in motion.

I say the quality is pretty good... I use it ever now and then, and watch movies or music vids off of my iPOD... well considering I didnt pay for anything, its a really great addition to your already highly priced G... yeah yeah I know, cant talk about the "forbidden mod"... atleast you can do it the legit way and not have to worry about the dealer getting frisky with you about it ! GL !
