What does the REC Button Do?

Ok...I give up...what is the red REC button for on our CD players? I couldn't find anything in the manual on it and doubt you can really record anything with it...was just curious what it was for. I think the two options on the screen are REC and Text.

REC is to record (rip) music off of your CD's onto your hard drive in your vehicle...

If you hit record and wait for the song to be played entirely, then go into your music box, it should show up.

Thanks all...I keep forgetting I've got that hard disk in the car...I primarily use my ipod now, but may just go ahead and rip my favorite CDs since I still have the issue with my ipod not turning off and the battery running down all the time.

Gulf Spec G37s don't come with a HDD so I wouldn't know, but are you certain it's not in the manual?

it is DEFINITELY in the manual under Audio/Electronics or whatever that section is "officially" titled.

You dont have to listen the entire song/cd. It rips at about 5/1 speed.

I was looking in the CD section and didn't see it listed there...didn't even think to look in the musicbox section. Sorry...it's been an unbelievably hard, long week at work and my eyes have been shot by the time I get home!
