Try the overhead centre console near the sunglass holder. The mic is in there somewhere. I think you will find a small vent opening.

On a related note, I find my BlackBerry does not communicate to the mic very well unless my phone is in the centre console or coffee cup holder. If I leave it on my left hip in the holster, the communication is very poor and others can't hear me. Since relocating the phone during a conversation, all works well.

I use my iPhone and leave it in my pocket 100% of the time. Perfect signal (as far as the car goes) the only time reception goes is when the phone itself loses service. But as far as where the actual microphone is, any specific reason why you need to locate it? I figure as long as your phone works then just go with it

Where your phone is place vs. the car's mic is irrelevant. Your phone is communicating over bluetooth wireless frequencies to the car's bluetooth receiver. Most phone bluetooths operate with a range of at least 10 feet. If you've having problems with people hearing you it's likely that the phone's RF signal to the cellular network is the issue. Maybe keeping it on your hip is somehow affecting the quality of the signal (interference, etc.) but if it was the bluetooth interface you would also have trouble hearing them.

Not to hijack the tread too much, I can assure you relocating the phone during the conversation made all the difference in the world for others to hear me. I could hear others clearly all the time no matter what was the location of the phone.

Back OT...is there any specific reason you are looking for the location of the microphone?

Thanks for getting back on the topic of my original post. The reason I asked where the mic is located is because I have had people tell me that they had difficulty hearing me or that I sounded far away.
