Does anybody know how it reset the Cruise Control

I was wondering if anybody knows the combination of buttons to push to reset the Cruise Control system. I push the cruise button "On" and the CRUISE light comes on and the SET light blinks rapidly. And that in turn makes the Cruise function not work.

I am thinking something like the ECU reset but different.

If you are going to fast or slow it won't set (<30 or 35 and >85), also if you have the windshield wipers on faster than the intermittent speed it won't let you set it, if you have VDC off it won't let you set it. Are any of these conditions the case?

No extra conditions. Driving down the freeway at 65-70 no wipers. One thing though, I changed steering wheel and the new wheel has the ICC distance control. I don't have ICC. I think I might have pushed the distance button and it freaked out the VERY sensitive system. I want to try and reset the system and not hit the distance button. I have a trip coming up going to Vegas and what the ease of Cruise Control. I haven't tried pulling the battery yet. Just want to see if there is an easier way.

I see. If you have an ICC wheel and no ICC, I would think that the whole distance part of the controls wouldn't be connected to anything so it shouldn't screw anything up but apparently it has. Try removing/replacing the fuse.

I am going to pull the battery contact tomorrow. Since the car's electronics work on pulses and not actual contact switches the same wire pretty much runs through the whole wheel. There are more than one wire in the plug but they all go the same place. More or less. And the distance button is in the place of the on-off on the non-ICC wheel. I am hoping to get the correct electronics but until then... As we all know if you change one little thing it thows off the whole system.

If the ICC cant see, then it kicks off the cruise, ie in bright sun or too much bug splatter, or in your case no sensor.
Try holding the icc button for 3 sec. This starts normal cruise control in the icc cars. Might start regular in yours too.

I would bet that the ICC distance button is giving you the problems. I am sure that somehow it is connected to the car, even though you don't have ICC, and when the car starts, it senses part of the ICC system but not all of it and cannot function properly.

Just out of curiousity, why do you have a steering wheel with ICC and you don't have ICC?

I got a CF steering wheel and they sent me a different version than I needed. At first didn't pay much mind to it but now I drive longer distances.
