Here's a weird one----

As I drive down one of our adjoining streets listening to the radio , for about a 200' stretch I start hearing waves and seagulls over my speakers.. First I thought it was the radio with some kind of interference but it happens when I have the radio on, either FM/AM/or XM it doesn't matter. It also happens when I am listening to my CF card. It also happens whether or not I have my blue tooth phone in the car, either on or off. Its just weird. Any ideas---other than seeing a shrink

Quick, answer back with humpback whale calls... the earth's in immanent danger!

Most likely it's just white noise from interference.

happens only when going one way down the street, doesn't happen going the other way. Truly weird

and only happens in my car, not my wife's , sons or daughters.

have you checked to see if someone programmed a destination sound into your navigation? are there any destinations stored on or around that street? if you go to edit the destination and youll see an option to play a sound effect when you get close to it.. it has a beach one, dont remember what it sounds like though..

That's exactly what I was thinking! Check your nav settings.

+1000 ... stored sound setting when approaching a location .. hence why it doesn't occur going the other way --- good call XMMAN

Ok guys and gals. You can all have a good laugh at my expense. It was a destination sound. One of the kids must of programed it into the system. Problem fixed. Tell you the truth, I never thought of that, just thought it was some white noise coming from some house. Live and learn

The funny thing is when my friend first got his GTR i found this option while bored sitting in the car waiting for him.. and i programmed cat noises so every time he got to work it would blast a cat in heat sound effect.. lol.. It sucks that I showed all my friends the feature because they set surprises for me when they are in the car now.. ill be driving and then hear some random noise and it scares me sometimes.. Im glad i was able to help you out!
