For the RECIRC issue, I noticed in the owner's manual that if you hit the FRESH/RECIRC button it becomes MANUAL (apparently indefinitely). To allow it to be automatically controlled again by the AUTO function, hit the FRESH/RECIRC button and hold it for 2 seconds until both lights on the button flash twice. It sounds like your's is stuck in MANUAL mode.
Yes...I typically put the system in recirc mode when I'm in heavy traffic mainly to prevent diesel fumes from getting in the car. I'll switch it back to fresh if there aren't any trucks around. On my Maxima, the system will default back to the fresh setting when the car is turned off. I have a friend who has a Honda set up like our Gs, and she drove for days in recirc mode and didn't know it. Having the system stay in recirc mode is a potential health hazard. There's no excuse for such poor engineering.

I did not see this thread but I am having the same problems as others. It is sad when it is 85-90 outside and I have my climate control set on 80 and it is blasting cold air.

My old 98 accord did better than this thing..........

Agree with you, but then I'm probably in the minority when I say that I have always preferred a manual AC system over auto climate control.

The same here

2010 G37x sedan and have the same issue with the temperature. It was 82 outside and I had to set it to 78 to keep it from getting too cold in recirc mode.If you turn off the recirc then it gets warm inside the car so you need to decrease the AC temp to almost 60 to have the same cool temp as 78 in recirc mode. I had a 2008 G35x and never had this issue.

^^
The major issue is that in recirculate the humidity can and will go up and completely fog up your windows.

The system is awful from an "automatic" perspective. I agree with an earlier comment that it requires more fiddling than any other auto system I have had.

My "solution" is to set the temp I want and then manually override the fan settings. I prefer to leave it on the lowest/quietest setting. The A/C is so powerful that it will work fine on the lowest setting in all but the hottest weather, at which time I crank it up to the second or third level (still not bad in terms of hands freezing to the wheel or noise level). Once the cabin temp is where it is supposed to be, I drop the fan speed back to low. This simple adjustment of the fan speed that I only have to do some times is less hassle than any other mode I have tried, where you incessantly have to try to counter-balance the system's behaviour that keeps switching from too cold to too stale to too hot. Even if I leave the fan speed on 2 or 3, it will become too cold compared to 1, where it will properly maintain the temp.

If Gamedog farted in the car and it recirculated through the cabin, all life within would cease to exist.
