I've had my iPhone and my video iPod (40 GB I think) plugged in for LONG amounts of time and both charge while they are plugged in...unless the car is off of course. But other than that any iPod'ish thing I plug in charges and works great

I'll plug my 1st gen iPhone into my car with no adapters to charge it and it works just fine. I leave my 80GB classic plugged in all the time and still works fine. The radio does sometimes act weird or freeze up if I have the iPhone plugged in listening to music and then get a call using the bluetooth. It seems to get a little confused sometimes when that happens and I'll have to turn the car off and turn it back on.
