8GB CF Card FREE w/rebate

It's only good for one day, and it's overkill for our car, but it's free!

I don't use my CF reader but I thought it would only read a certain amount of songs regardless of the card size? i understand this reader is free but 8GB is overkill lol!

So would this card work if you only put 512 files on it?

I've never used CF, I'm a Memory Stick sort of guy. If they're free 9after rebate) and you can buy up to 3 of them; why not just buy 3, put 512 songs each on them (at a pretty high bit rate with that much space), and have access to 1500 songs at yoru fingertips. Would that work or will the reader just not read an 8GB card?

It would read up to the file limit so you could buy 3 and just fill them up to the file limit.

OK help me out here and cure my CF ignorance. Will it read only 512 files on a card if there's more on the card than that, or will it fail to read the card altogether if there's over 512 files? Will it read an 8 GB card at all? (I thought someone had posted somewhere that it would only read cards up to 4 GB - maybe I'm mistaken)

I'm not sure if the drive will not read an 8gig CF card. I've only used 2 gig cards.

I believe it's 512MB so roughly ~175 songs (3 minz avg. 128kbit) I would go with a 1GB just incase you need to ever transfer files computer to computer like movies, games etc.. 8GB is overkill for a flash drive.
