cobb review ???

I was reading a review on Cobbs racing, it was a link on Thread, and they saided changing the intake would add better sound not performance.

What do you think?

How does one go about getting the g37 reflashed?

I am assuming flashing would mean updating the computer system after the intake and exhaust are installed. This sounds reasonable...

Your thoughts???

changing your factory cold air intake into a opened end, warm air intake will make your car "sound" different yes. does it increase HP? not sure about that. warm air intake ftl. maybe the "sounds" it gives off makes you think your car is faster.

Changing your intake in an NA car that has already been factory optimized is useless, and for the most part, the increase in sound is inversely proportional to performance; ie: it's just for sound and half of the time it hurts the performance of the car.

Read the threads in the Intake section please. This is an old topic and has already been answered. Cobb is wrong, plain and simple.

The Cobb and UPRev reflash the ECU with a device. It is just like writing new software on your car. You can also send your ECU into TechnoSquare to get them to reflash it.

Sorry but you are wrong. The Injen and JWT both increase performance. JWT increases it by a good bit and doesn't loss power when the car is warm. There are dyno's on this so I suggest you look at them.

The G37 has room for improvement. JWT and Injen has shown that. JWT is the best as far as performance so far. Top Secret and some other companies are coming out with intakes as well and they are claiming gains also. Some aftermarket intakes hurt the performance of the car but not all. And IMO about 10HP and 5TQ is good for a performance part on a NA car.

I was looking at the Stillen long tube intake. Because of the complete set up and it looks nice as compared with the JWT intake where I have to use the flex tube and more straps.

Whats your thoughts on

The things is, are you talking about performance or sound between the two? Sound is subjective so I cannot answer that for you especially since I've never had the Stillen intakes. MaxToTheG37 use to have the Stillen intakes I believe before he switched to the JWTs so maybe he can answer. As far as performance goes, the JWT winds hands down. The Stillen does give a little bit of performance but loses power once they get warm.

I would have got injen if there wasnt so much baggage. Removing front bumper for installs and cleaning, change your washer fluid bottle, relocate your horn. For a product that took so long to make, I'd like to tell Injen **** you for not thinking it out properly.
