I've done a bunch of searches and here really doesn't seem to be a consensus unfortunately

I've had some nice aftermarket systems in past rides and while the Bose Studio on Wheels is far from the worst sounding stock rig I've heard, I think I'm ready for an upgrade

Two questions:

1) For those who have only added an additional amp / trunk sub - how much improvement have you heard, what did you add and are you happy with it or are you planning further upgrades?

2) I have also read a few posts where the stock head unit is possibly saved and the two stock amps and all speakers have been replaced with a trunk sub also added. I'd like to keep the head unit as well, so the same questions - how much improvement, which did you add and how happy are you?

Cost information would also be helpfull in both cases

I listen mostly to prgressive rock, (Yes, Genesis, ELP), but like my bass felt as well as heard.

There is only a couple people who have changed out door speakers and such... which is where I want to end up... but they have done so by sacing the HU and replacing everything else.
1. Bass was improve alot by just adding an amp and sub. I added a Zenclosure box with a RF 10inch sub and amp. It does me good while Im deciding on what I want my big install to be. Hence I will be selling it very soon.

2. If you go with some simple, 10 inch sub and amp... you do not need to replace everything... the bose sounds good with added bass.
