do actually have to record the entire cd onto the musicbox or is there a way it will rip on like a computer?

You rip the whole thing and then you can delete what you don't want.

do you hit the record to rip it? cause from what i see you have to play the entire cd to get the songs on there

im trying to figure out if you have to record the cd onto by listening to the whole thing or is there a faster way?

Yes you hit the record to rip it. You listen to the CD but it actually records in about 5-6 minutes. You can see the progress of the recording by a (1/12, 2/12, 3/12, 4/12) display. Or how ever many songs are on the CD.

oh ok thanks,

one more question, if it is a burned cd, is it possible to see the song names?

You have to input them manually if the system doesn't recognize the disc.

More realistically its takes about 13-15 minutes, I have no found a way to only record selected songs but you are able to remove whichever ones you do not want. I only rip custom cds so no need to select/delete songs.

Is there a way to burn MP3's to the music box? I've tried too but the "REC" button doesn't show... =/

Thanks for the information to rip music to the harddrive. The elapsed time is around 12-15 min per CD. The Owner’s Manual is not exactly intuitive.

That must be why no one ever reads it

I would like to see on future models the ability to connect via USB and transfer .mp3s to the HD.
