IPOD Not Connected

Sometimes when i turn the car on it does not seem to realize that the IPOD is already connected. It says "IPOD is not connected" on the screen. I have to disconnect it and reconnect it for the audio system to recognise the IPOD.

Its bizarre.

There is no pattern to it. Sometimes it works without having to reconnect it. Sometimes it doesn't.

anyone else encountering this?

edit: spelling & clarification

i get the same thing. You dont have to unplug it though. You can just hit the disc/aux button to show the ipod screen and then select a song or use voice command and say ipod to bring it up on the screen. Its a pain though when I turn the car on it says ipod in small letters across the bottom but no music til I choose a song.
