I am in the process of installing some radio gear in my G. There is an accessable and unused hole in the firewall (will have a rubber plug in it) near the bottom passenger side of the battery that comes out behind the sound deadening pad. It is fairly easy to route from there to the trunck under the sill trim, and back seat side panel to the trunk. I have taken several pictures and will post them once I have finished.

I was able to reach the rubber plug out front without having to disconnect anything or remove the battery. I did remove the glove box, covers, etc. inside.

Run it under the kick plate covers, the plastic between the kick plate and the carpet and then under the back seat area.

I didn't get a usable picture from the engine side of the hole. It comes into the passenger compartment just to the right of the metal bracket on the right of the fan motor housing about 4" up from the bottom of that metal bracket.

I didn't take any real detailed pictures of the wire routing, but I have just posted a brief description/tutorial on the installation I did do.

so i am trying to run some power wire...

Could one of you all tell me or explain excatly where the hole is behind the battery to go through?

EDIT: I have found a rubber gromet where someones feet would be but it have a long rubber hose in it that leads in the direction of the HU. I pinched it and it feels like there is nothing in it...

^^^ is that what you guys are talkin about?

Found it.

Remove the trim piece on the lower edge of the windshield. To do that you have to remove the battery cover surround. Then look behind the battery for a large round rubber grommet going down from just under the front edge of the windshield. It will have a large bundle of wires. If you open it, make a pinhole away from the bundle, feed a wire thru it , and into the hole the wire comes out by the passenger right pinky toe area. Replace the grommet and reassemeble batter compartment.

yes

That's what I was planning. I just got the wire done last night. I don't know if I found what the previous poster was talking about but I did not remove my glove box or carpet pad. Just the above , then fed the wire down the hole, and it came out in the footwell.

I was searching and came across this thread saw your old post and thought WTHeck.
