I have a 2008 M35x and I also have the remote start using the factory key fob and I could tell u first hand that the car does remain locked when the remote start is activated. So I'm pretty sure its the same with all vehicles with the same setup.

Hi guys,

I just got my G last friday and was thinking of adding this to my car. From what I've read on this thread, it would be possible I would just have to carry two fob's. Has anybody done this?

My sister's Dakota has a remote start and it keeps the doors locked until you actually unlock them with the key as well.

Hi guys. I would like to install a remote start in my 08 G37 coupe. Just wondering if anyone has does it with the factory remote and could point me at a link to where i could pick one up. I think you need some kind of bypass for the smart key.

Picked up my G37x in August and had my dealer do it. They have a guy that comes in when needed to do tints and remote starts(he also hardwired my Valentine 1). I got tints and the remote start for $460. Have to hit lock 3x's for car to start. Luv it!!!

I'm sure they'd rather you pay them to do it. LOL. Range is...OK. It uses the factory remote, so the range is the same with or without it. Parking light's stay on when started.

i found a website that sells a module similar to what everyone is talking about. Crimestopper Security Products, Inc. go to remote start and look up the RS-0 module. I am thinking about getting this one and trying it out.
