The IK just does not have the right power or even broadcasts on a frequency that lends itself to longer ranges.

Someone who has this setup; can you verify the above?
For those of you who are curious as to the parts needed to do this; even though the range is very limited. Here are the parts listing:

Valet 561T is here: http://www.hornetcarsecurity.com/Pro...?ProductID=808

CANSL2 is here: http://www.ifar.ca/vehicles/2008/inf...intellikey)/#8

With those two pieces you should be able to get a remote start with your Factory FOB.

If I tell the dealer I want to add remote start using the factory fob, will they know which parts? Or should I tell them which ones?

I have seen two different listings in this forum regarding parts; one for a directed electronics (DEI561T) and then the most recently listed Valet 561T and CANSL2. Can either be used?

Might be a stupid question but how does the remote start work with a manual transmission? Don't you guys always park it in first gear? I guess with the remote you'd just leave it in neutral right?

From what I have read, if the car is in gear it disables the remote start.

I hate this acting stupid stuff... everywhere I call there like a caveman. They all play dumb.

One place is saying they can do it but it was going to be 8-900 bucks!

I wish someone from a dealership would just post the info so other infiniti dealerships could do this also...
It sucks when you want to give money away for service but no one wants it.

Bump for an awesome thread. I feel like we're on the verge of getting the simple answers we need for a "factory remote start".

has anyone tried to do the remote start install on their own car with just the two parts listed below?

Valet 561T is here: http://www.hornetcarsecurity.com/Pro...?ProductID=808

CANSL2 is here: http://www.ifar.ca/vehicles/2008/inf...intellikey)/#8

I am very interested in doing this to my G but I just want to get some feedback from those who attempted to DIY.

Okay... So I read the entire thread... I have a comment and some questions.
Comment: I was planning on making my own DIY remote start... essentially bluetooth radio, to a circuit which powers up the remote temporarily then, connects the clutch button circuit, then connects the starter button circuit.
Problems: If someone else drives my car, and leaves it in gear, that would suck. And I'm not really sure how to add the security of "wont drive without the real key".

Questions:
1) Is all the data like: what gear the car is in, and is the key present, is the clutch or brake pressed... is all of that in the canbus data?
2) I'm really interested in these off the shelf solutions. I didnt think they existed, esp for manual cars! Has ANYONE gotten any of them to work? My dealer basically said it didnt exist, freaking liar!
