I live in MD, but of course my work is 1 mile into VA. I'm scared to get one and get caught with it in VA. GRRR.

^^untill the cop that pulls you over for the RD also says he paced you doing 75 in a 55 >_<

wut are u going to say in court.... oh no i was doing the speed limit (DESPITE the obvsious fact that u have a radar detector and running it illegaly in VA)

That's the type of thing where if u didnt HAVE the RD in the first place, that cop prolly wdnt have even pulled u over... hence having the RD is what got u the speeding ticket!

I'm a big fan of RD's tho, many many saves in VA too. Just be smart and get a Bel STI Driver as ur RD... or take it off for the 1 min u drive into VA.

Never know what the future holds tho and where else in VA u might be driving to one day....

I realize that most of us have money and dont care about 20-30 bucks on a invis cord thing, but its seriously easy to make your own with any RJ-11 cable or telephone cord. save yourself the money and just make one , then ask the hot girl at work out to lunch and spend the money having fun instead.

Also, any Escort owners out there, I've owned my 8500 for many years now, within the past 6 months I've noticed it's done a self calibration a few times... Does this mean it's on the way out? It still seems to work/alert normally.

this is how it should look, if you mount it higher you will get limited rear protection from radar\laser detection.

someone asked some ill just share with everyone.

I had that from my 2006 350z but it works fine on my G also. plus its metal and not plastic. its a little pricey though for a mount. i just turned it over so you cant see the Z on mine, you can get them blank also.

get mount here

http://www.countryjoycrafts.com/Conn...arDetector.htm

get radar here
http://www.escortradar.com/solo.htm

I bought this a year ago also when I purchased my Z, i picked this one because i can take it out and use in my other cars on battery , i dont like cords. it provides the same protection as the X50 when the batteries are good. since its plugged in all the time, and only on battery when i switch cars its great for me.
