Would be helpful. People can see how they've been "Riced out".
And maybe a "no-thanks" button for lame or redundant threads, a "threadjacker" and a "search" button for those that really need it

There's a lot of new members lately who may not be aware of this feature or what it's for so I'll bump this thread. Use it. I see countless times when a member asks a question and another member give them a great answer to their question very quickly (I'm looking right at your blnewt!). Thank them! I see noobs who are constantly asking questions and getting great replies form more experienced members, yet they don't give them a thanks. Please show some appreciation by just clicking that button.

You can also use it even when you didn't ask the question. Show gratitude for members who always help out others with their issues. That's what makes the forum great and it doesn't cost anything to show gratitude in that way.

Another benefit is that you can narrow down search results by searching for something and narrowing it down to only posts that have received thanks. That's more likely to be a post that is helpful. But it only works if people use it.

Is there an easier way to see who has "Thanked" you most recently, and in which thread? When I click on the link "Thanked XX times in XX posts" it appears to take me to a list that is ordered by the date of the thread, not in order by which thread was most recently "Thanked". Maybe I am missing some marker. Currently, the only way I can find out what I was most recently thanked for is by going through the threads under the "Thanked XX times in XX posts" link and look at each thanked post to find the date of each person's thanks. Right now, it is manageable, but as the "Thanks" accrue, this will become time prohibitive.

The reason I am interested in this is so I can go back and view what a person has found useful and "Thanked" me for. Also, there is the possibility the person has "Thanked" me for something recently and needs further explanation, or help.

"Thanks!" lol

Go to your own profile by clicking your username in the top right corner, and click the "statistics" tab. Scroll down a bit and click "Find all Thanked posts by Ryne", it'll list your thanked posts by date.

You can also used the advanced search function for the same thing, but this is faster. If you're on the IB automotive group app, there's no provision as far as I know for doing this.

Now thank me, B#$@H !!

Your screen name will appear at the bottom of the post in question and the message: "The Following User Says Thank You to [insert thanked member's user name here] For This Useful Post:" Everyone who thanks the member for that same posts' name will appear. It's just a way to show appreciation for something you feel is worthy of a thank you. That's all. Just a little bit of recognition for something or someone you feel is deserving. There's no limit to how many thanks you can give out. You can also retract them in case you thank the wrong post by mistake or change your mind.

Thank away!
I'd like to thanks a few people for their posts but I couldn't see the thank button anywhere. I'm using both IE and Google Chrome by the way.

Is there any setting that I need to change in my account in order to see the thank button?

Thanks,

I am also one who doesn't see the thank button in IE or chrome, but, I'm assuming once I post this here, then it'll pop up, as seems to be happening to everyone else...

EDIT:
Still nothing I originally wanted to thank a post about the window auto-up reset thing, but had to just post a reply like a noob..

I would like to thank a few people but I don't have the buttons visible. I see others having this issue but have not seen a fix yet.

If someone lets me know how to get the Thanks Button visible I will use my first Thanks on them.

There's a certain post count you need to hit before you can thank other posts for spam minimization purposes. Hope that doesn't hurt your forum browsing experience

Makes sense. Thanks for the response.

No this will not deter me from using this forum. This is one of the best forums I have seen for information and mature members. Everyone is eager to help. I have already picked up several simple tips and recommendation to improve my vehicles performance and look.
