This is so true. I have staff that I manage at work and it is like this. No matter who the person is, there will always be someone somewhere that will get away with what they can, if they can. Time to buckle down!!!

Edited the first post to address buying using paypal as a gift or wire transfer as payment methods. Don't do it. You have no idea how many PM I have gotten by members who have done this only to realize that their money is gone and they get no goods or have a problem with the goods and no way to get a refund. So silly just to possibly save a few dollars.

When sending money, paypal gives the option of the sender being charged the paypal fees rather than the recipient. If you want to be nice , you can select that. Otherwise, the seller should have the fees figured into the selling price.

Incidentally, paypal will now charge seller fees even for bank payments, which cost paypal nothing (ach transfers). This was not the case in years past. Seems paypal found another teat they could milk.

Lately there have been an increasing a number of issues regarding Private Classifieds again. Please read the first post of this thread. Please read the rules for posting in the Private classified forum that are linked in the first post.

Don't post WTB or FS anywhere but in classifieds.
Don't pay with PayPal as a gift and complaint hat you got scammed.
DO read the rules for the Private Classifieds forum before asking why you can't post in that forum.

Just a couple of months down the road from the last posting in this thread, and all day long today I spent time and energy trying to clean up 3 different situations that went sideways involving PayPal payments sent as a gift made for goods purchased on this forum. The next member that sends me a PM asking me to assist with a problem that arose because they sent a payment as a gift is going to be immediately and permanently banned without explanation. I'm dead serious. If you're that cheap or stupid, deal with your own mess and don't ask me to try to fix it for you.

Don't ask or expect anyone to pay you with a PayPal payment as a gift.
Don't pay anyone for something with a PayPal payment sent as a gift.
Factor PayPal fees into your price if you are selling something.
If you ignore the previous 3 instructions and find that you are screwed as a result, don't tell me about it because 1) I don't care and 2) you will be banned for bothering me with your nonsense.

That is all.

BB can you post this as a sticky right top of the FS section in bold red colors? I don't think most look on here. but only go to the FS section or other section without searching.

Exclamation

I'm bumping this thread because members seem to either be completely unaware of these Private Classified forum rules or they are being completely ignored. Tighten it up people. I'd rather not be the bad guy but I'm certainly not afraid to. Post in compliance with these simple rules that are listed in the first post of this thread or it gets deleted without warning or explanation. If you're selling your items on this forum, it's YOUR responsibility to learn and follow the rules.

Don't post the thread until you have pictures to post in your thread. Period. No exceptions. Don't post that you'll add them later, that makes more work for me to have to come back into your thread to check for them or respond to comments of no pictures. Don't post links to photos somewhere else. Post them in the thread on this forum if you're selling them in this forum.

Post an asking price even if it's negotiable.

Don't post anything at all unless the item is definitely for sale right now. Not maybe or later when you take it off your car.

If your item sells or is no longer available, state that in the post and report the first post by clicking the Report Post button so that we know and can close the thread.

Don't post stuff for sale in your regional forum (I'm looking at you Canadians!) just because it's a local sale. Post in Private Classifieds and clearly state its a local sale only.

If you don't read and follow the rules, don't get mad at me when I simply delete your thread. It's annoying and time consuming when I have to post in your threads or PM you telling you to follow the rules. I'm going to stop doing that and just start deleting the threads. Courtesy and consideration goes both ways. Read and comply with the classified rules please.
