Real owners of Injen long tube CAI only - water issues?

Hi folks,

I am new here, tried to put this in the right spot please forgive me if I didn't.

Id like to hear from G37 sedan or coupe owners with the Injen longtube CAI installed.

With or without hydroshields, do you ever or have ever had water issues? (limp mode ,or worse...hydrolock)

Looking for actual owners or prior users of this intake on the G37.

Thank you very much

Not trying to be an @-hole, but are you dead set on that design? I noticed that no one replied yet...but it may be due to the design. Is this one of the intake systems that require modifications to the washer fluid bottle?

There are other long tube systems that bring the filter(s) to the front of the car to pull in cold air - from behind the grill.

If hydro-lock is of a major concern, go with a different design. Stillen Gen 3 and Takeda are common

Thanks for the reply, I decided to go with Injen SRI and HPS intake tubes, we'll see how it works out.

You won't hydrolock with an intake under typical conditions. The filter would have to be more than 50% submerged and you would have to be doing like 100% throttle. Also, at this point you would most likely have water coming in your doors in order for it to be so deep you completely submerge your filter.

I have Injen CAI and during heavy rainstorms there is no problem with them but one time I had no choice but to go through a flood as the other side was the only way out and the intake sucked the water in and stalled the car as it crawled out of the water. Left the car alone for 20-25 minutes to let all the water come out and turned it back on and was on my way.
