So, what did the G37 owners upgrade to?
Hey Peeps,
I think its almost time to say good riddance to this G37 sedan awd. I've only owned the car for 11 months but it just doesn't do it for me. I came from a G35 coupe so I thought the next gen up would already be good....
Wondering what you ex G37 owners upgrade to? My main complaint with this car is around town driving speed and the transmission (auto). Looking for up to $25k for another used car.
Thanks

I am thinking of getting a SRT8 300c the current body or a Audi A5/S5 coupe. Not a BMW fan and not a huge Mercedes fan either. It's hard moving to a different car for me because i feel like im stepping down in some way with others. The G has really spoiled me.

My first car was buick sedan.. doesnt even remember the model.
Then I got 2004 G35 coupe for few years.
After I got into an accident, I bought a brand new hyundai veloster turbo.
Wow. that car is slow and not fun to drive. So I gave that car to my little brother and bought another infiniti, which is current g37x sedan.
G gives you so much power and pseudo-luxury for the money, you can't really compare any other cars in same price range except like a 370z and such.
I considered getting German cars such as 335i or CLA amg but man all I see from their forums are complains about their reliability.
I must say, if you want to drive German cars, lease them. do not buy them!
However, I'm only hearing good things about audi these days. Audi might be a good alternative way to go for german cars

I imagine most will go for the q50 RS400 after enough time has passed
Looks like it will be a good platform and already a performer out of the box, so once there is aftermarket support and buzz around it will probably be quite popular
I test drove one for myself and it is on an entirely different level than the G, in a couple years after the bugs and issues have been worked out i'll be looking at one for myself

One of my buddies had a 2012 300c SRT8 and i am STILL hooked on how that thing moved and looked. But Chrysler..........:-(
I do like the Lexus GS350 but it is more in the league of the M/Q70. And the IS350 is nice but i feel like it wouldn't be much of a upgrade besides of being a different car with the Tech stuff.

Yes i have friends with German cars and they scare me based on their issues. But i LOVE the looks of that A5/S5 Coupe.

I saw one at the dealership last week when we were shopping for my mother's new SUV. (end up getting RX350)
Man, those are nice. Like really really nice.

I'm probably going to stick with the G for now since I just wrapped it, but I've had my eyes set on the following cars:
'05 Subaru STi (wrb please)
'05 Lotus Elise (yellow or orange)
'08 Porsche Cayman
'18(?) Tesla Model III
Or maybe I'll get a BMW Z3 roadster next summer and make a drift build. Who knows?

I was a young man 5 years ago when I had my G37, during that time I was still dating.
Now, I'm a 1 year old baby's father, so the car seat can be a long term issue, so I'm aiming for a functional SUV like Honda Pilot.

EXACTLY.
It makes me LOL these guys saying "G doesn't do it for me. and then hear about the A/T or see in their Sig line 7AT"
for $25k there is no way you can find a better car with a better mix of luxury and performance. aftermarket support, reliability......
find yourself the same car in a 6MT and it will change your world I guarantee it. I will drive this car until the end of time. won't always be my primary but there is nothing I don't like about it.
LOL @ Elise.
