Help! Looking to purchase g37, have questions!
Curious about mileage..the car has 98, 000k .. How long have yours gone for?
and
did you find there to be issues other than the normal maintenance(tires, oil, etc) after you hit the 100,000k mark?
Thanks!!

Before I got my G37x (2012) I had a 2003 I35 that was properly maintained. That car didn't start having problems until around 145,000 miles... They're pretty solid cars, especially the engine.

They are very solid cars. I went 9 years in my G35 with zero troubles. Just the regular oil changes that was it. If you can get something with 75,000 miles that would make me more comfortable if I were you. But like I said in my experience they run to infiniti and beyond. lol

Still only in the 40,000's on my G37, however, my G35 which I still have is at 249,000 miles now and still runs hard without any engine or transmission issues. ...

151k on my G37, runs great.
I'm trying to stop by a dealership to do the trans reflash, but other than that,
Everything runs great, I cleaned my dirty throttle bodys and cleaned my MAFs recently, but normal maintenance is all these Nissans need

I have 90k and I've needed:
2 sets of tires.
Oil changes every 3700 miles.
A cabin air filter every 15k. (takes about 10 minutes)
Outside of that, I put gas in it, and air in the tires. Bulletproof.

I've normally done oil changes at 5000 miles on cars with synthetic. Why so often?

That is why I was wondering why so often, too.
Mobil did a test once where they took two cars and ran them up to 200,000 miles I think it was. in one car the oil was changed every 7,5000 and the other every 15,000 miles if I remember correctly. At the end of the 200,000 miles, the car's engines were torn down and found to be in perfect condition...
I think they did this to a BMW and put 1,000,000 miles on it. AT THE END of the road, when the engine was taken apart, Mobil's engineers discovered that the wear measurements were the same as the manufacturer's specifications.
there is absolutely no reason to change oil at 3,500 miles even if non-synt oil is used.
my G35 saw an oil change every 10,000 miles.
