Meisterschaft axle back and test pipes anyone?

I have done some searching around and came up empty. What I'm looking for is the Meisterschaft axle-back combined with non-resonated test pipes. I am curious to hear what this would sound like. If anyone has this setup can you post videos? Or if there are already videos, show me where? Like most, I am very interested in a Meisterschaft exhaust, but feel ~$3000 for a cat-back is a little much. I think the test pipes could make it a little louder without opting for the rest of the Meisterschaft cat-back. But unsure if it would be too raspy or drone, so has anyone done this before? Thanks

If you plan on getting the full cat back eventually I wouldn't pair test pipes with it. I wouldn't even recommend Resonated HFC with the cat back. There is a good amount of rasp, but not annoying, but when you add test pipes or aftermarket cats it only makes it worse, resonated or not. Send Need4Speed a pm and see what their pricing is, I got mine for less than $3k shipped.

This is how mine sounded with only the catback and R2C intakes:

With headers, HFC, and full catback:

Thank you for the helpful reply!

Although the point of my thread was to buy only the axle back. Pair it with non resonated test pipes to get a little more sound out of it without having the rest of the Meisterschaft. I wasn't ever planning on the full cat back.

Gotcha, its easy to get side tracked. If I were you I would get the axle back installed and broken in before you add test pipes to it. It could still be a little too much with the test pipes, which is why I suggest the axle back first. Also something to look at are the double resonated FI test pipes, I think Alfredo has a set on his G (although with a different cat back), and they are extremely attractive. I'll see if I can find a picture of them, might be the way to go.

Food for thought, the pipes on the GTHaus are 2.5" and the stock pipes, I think, are either 1.5 or 1.75, so you may have a small issue with getting the axle back sitting snug with the smaller diameter stock pipes since the axle backs are a slip fit. It can be done, kdawg did it to his G, and I remember him saying that it took some finagling to get it to fit properly.

Edit: They were double resonated MXP test pipes, I do believe that FI offers them but I couldn't find a picture of them.

So you think the axle back Meisterschaft paired with non resonated test pipes will still be too loud?! And you recommend double resonated pipes? The loudness is kind if what I'm after, as in the full Meisterschaft cat back is the sound I like, it isn't too loud for me. Just not sure I want to spend the coin on a full kit.

Since I see they sell just the axle back portion I assumed it would line up nicely. But I never thought about that one. Is he the only one to do so? I'd like some more info on this if anyone has something to share.

It's more to reduce rasp, not sound. As far as I know he was the only one to do it, I'm sure there are others but he is the only one I know of.
