Navigation Upgrade
I know this has been discussed here somewhere before. I just purchased the Nav upgrade on line, after taxes it cost $204. Really seems excessive, but I use and rely on my Nav system quite abit. I then called the dealer (Atlantic Infiniti of Jacksonville) and made an appointment to have the upgrade done. They call me back and tell me there is a $129 fee to do the upgrade. F@#&in outrageous. Does anyone have the address so I can send a email to Infiniti and put in a complaint about this. I wish I could get paid $129 every time I put a disc in the computer and let it run by itself. Buyer beware!

And just a followup on my nav upgrade. Tried to get a refund and they refused. Some bull about give me a authorization number is the same as trying to return an opened item. They will not cancel the auth code. DO NOT USE THIS "NAVTEQ" COMPANY FOR UPGRADES. I asked to see this return policy in terms and conditions and they couldn't find it. Just kept giving me the runaround.

I received the same upgrade mailer from Infiniti with the download information and threw it in the trash where it belongs. It's another profit center like putting protective goop on your car or conditioning your seats. Please don't fall for this stuff.

I had the update at Parkway Infiniti in southern California. No additional charge other than the Navetq price. I did the update because my G had the 06/07 map version. Probably won't update for another 3 years.

I emailed Austin Infiniti to see what their charge was and they said 1 hour charge so $105. I think the $190 price for the code is way out of line, no way I'm paying $105 in addition to that. I'm sure it is simply attaching a laptop to the car, putting in the code and hitting the "go" button. I wonder how many of these they actually sell? I find it hard to believe that there isn't another way to get this. To the original poster, did the form to purchase it ask for your VIN?

I upgraded the nav on my old G35 coupe after two years. The vendor sent me a disk with instructions to do it myself. If I was to upgrade my current system before ordering I would certainly ask my dealer first if there was a charge. I would like to think they’ll do it for free when I have the car in for other service. Otherwise, I don't see the need for a few more years. On my last upgrade, I never noticed any difference.

The upgrade is most likely done by DVD disk inserted and thats it. They probably want to do it at the dealer because they dont want us coping the disk. would need activation code somewhere im sure.
