Reason: Put someone’s email by mistake.
There are a few members who have imported wheels from reliable and reputable sources from Japan, but none from China that I know of.
Be warned, anything shipping from Asia can only be sent by boat, which will take months to arrive. On top of that you have to deal with potential customs taxes which you will have to pay.
Then, there is the familiar "Cheap Chinese Junk."
If you really want these wheels just do your research and prepare for every contingency. There are plenty of wheel choices out there. Ultimately, it's your car and your decision.
I buy stuff from Asia all the time. It takes a couple of weeks, not months, once they ship.
Not to sideline the thread, but when was the last time your ordered anything from China? Pre-COVID or since? Nothing is coming from Asia by air unless you pay the premium for DHL or FedEx. For freight items that would become cost prohibitive. There are forum members here, NOW, that are waiting months for wheels to arrive from Japan. Hell, it took 4 months for 2 pairs of shoes that I ordered to get here. And, yes, you are right: "when they ship."
You implied that the wheels would take months because it has to be shipped by boat. I was saying that once it gets on the boat it might take only a couple of weeks to arrive. The longer delays are due to other reasons unrelated to it having to be shipped on a boat.
Waiting extended times most likely has nothing to do with COVID. The problem is they have to wait to fill an entire container before they are going to send it to port. No one is going to pay $3000 for a container and only send it half full.
