38mm or 45mm offset

Hello, Looking at Mach ME.15 wheels for a stock 2008 G37 18x8. The options are 38mm or 45mm offset. Standard tires 225/50.
Read about offset, mostly seems to be of concern when changing the wheel size. A few online sites say 38mm for this wheel. My math head says 45mm is closer, so less change, from the stock 43mm.
Which offset would you recommend? Does it make much of a difference given that everything is stock?
Thank you.

I would do 38mm it will just push the wheels out a bit, but it will look really weird having it pushed in more by getting 45mm. If you are to get 38mm it won't affect much of the geometry since your hub is still close to the center of the rim. If you really want to visualize the amount it will stick out if you go with 38mm offset just grab a 5mm wrench and place it next to your wheels on the car.
