Broke my valve stem

Parallel parking too close (and maybe using a too-long valve cover cap) busted the stem In my 2008 G-37 coupe. The stem is connected to a 1-piece tire pressure sensor, the TPMS, cost $108 for the part, more $ to program it? more again to mount it? anybody come up with a cheaper fix?

Any tire chain can replace it for a quarter of that price and will include synch. These are commodity parts.

Used OEM sensors are about $10-$15 on ebay...theres a DIY on here (and every Nissan based forum) on how to reprogram them for free

The one piece sensors are comparatively quite expensive. I can buy a new one for maybe $40 and the tire store will program it for $30.

I have read the battery in these things only last maybe 10-15 years, so I may have to repeat this expenditure three more times.
Surely there is a better way!

"Only 10-15 years". You sure have high expectations for batteries.

Looking for some help here with my 11 year old car. How/when do you manage/replace your TPMS.
Or do most people just leave the light on?

Going on 8 yrs now. Knock on wood so far all 4 still work. As they say, ymmv. Not sure what I'll do when it's time to change them. Probably wait until the next tire change. I do check pressures regularly so it's not that big of a deal. No prior cars had tpms, never had any issues.
